So here we are, 2017. We’ve left the absolute circus that was 2016 and we’ve got a brand new, shiny, hopefully optimistic year to play with!
Everyone always says “new year, new me” and to be honest, I’m so tired of hearing it/seeing it in hashtag form on all of my social feeds. So in equal measures of stubbornness and adhering to my newfound self love, I’m going to say “new year, same me”…because I’m awesome! 2016 taught me a lot about myself that I 100% want to bring into this year. And yeah, I’m sure I’ll change along the way, but right now, I’m happy being the same person. I’ve got a lot to be thankful for, a lot to be excited for and I’m ready to take it all on.
I don’t really have any resolutions for this year, aside from keeping on with the aforementioned self love and confidence. However, I do have one big goal, for the first half of the year.
I’ve set myself the challenge to swim a half marathon!
A half marathon is 13.1 miles.
This equates to 21,082.41 meters.
Or, 843.2 lengths of a pool.
So, totally ridiculous. Absolutely bonkers.
To be honest, the logistics are still being worked out in my head. Where do I do it? How long will it take? What’s the best way to attack it? How much training should I allow myself? How do I make sure I don’t turn into a prune woman?!
But, I know one thing for sure. I’m going to do it! This is my biggest challenge yet and I am so excited for it.
It’s time to become the mermaid I always knew I could be and dive right in I guess…!
What are you resolutions or goals for 2017?
